Ensuring delivery of crucial policies to support a viable construction industry in Cork
The sixth annual CIF Southern Construct Summit  is the must-attend event for the entire construction sector in Cork. The Summit will bring together senior sector leaders, policy-makers and other stakeholders to discuss developments across the county to facilitate the successful delivery of crucial policies to support a viable construction industry in Cork city and county.
We will hear from the developers, investors and local authority leaders who are bringing forward major exciting projects in the region in housing, infrastructure and sustainability. They will discuss how as more certainty emerges within the industry and confidence grows in there being a strong pipeline of industry projects, there is a need to consider how to structure the business and include the talent needed to drive these projects to completion. Driving sustainability to reduce impact and increase efficiency in Cork’s built environment is crucial.
Cork is facing a transformational decade as the city enters into an exciting period of development, investment and expansion. A series of major infrastructural investments in transport and urban regeneration projects, including major greenway, cycle lane and park projects, all aim to dramatically enhance the quality of urban life for city dwellers.
Innovation and digitalisation are key to achieving targets, as the industry leverages modern construction methods for enhanced efficiency. Sustainability will also be prioritised to develop industry policies pertaining to ESG and off-site construction. With Cork on course to see its population soar there will be a  focus on sustainable residential development and the creation of compact settlements for urban and rural areas. The city must accelerate its housing delivery to meet the needs of a growing population.
Growth in Cork is fuelled by the city’s high levels of foreign direct investment (FDI), with over 200 international companies making Cork their home. Retaining attractiveness for foreign direct investment in a challenging international environment is crucial.
The CIF Southern Construct Summit 2024 will showcase some of the most influential projects happening in the region and how construction firms are seizing the opportunities across transport, property, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, energy and manufacturing. There is also a plethora of climate change initiatives helping to create a sustainable future for Cork businesses and contributing to making more liveable towns and cities for its citizens.
So join us on 23 May 2024 at the CIF Southern Construct Summit for insightful and stimulating discussions on how to increase productivity, to improve efficiencies for your business and connect you with brands, organisations, suppliers and key industry buyers. Don’t miss out! If your goal is to keep abreast of developments and opportunities to drive improvement in your company, then the CIF Southern Construct Summit is the event for you.

With Ireland’s population now standing at 5.2 million, we critically need a built environment including roads, transport systems, schools, hospitals and utilities. If we don’t provide this infrastructure, our critical housing and climate commitment targets will be delayed.
