Marcus Carne

Marcus Carne is a highly experienced and strategic construction executive, currently serving as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of Sisk Group, a leading construction and engineering enterprise (www.sisk.com). With over 25 years of leadership experience across the Building, Engineering, Resources and Energy sectors, Marcus is recognised for driving commercial excellence, transformative growth and collaborative execution at scale.
In his role as Chief Commercial Officer, Marcus leads Sisk’s commercial strategy, partnering with clients, delivery teams and stakeholders to shape outcomes that balance innovation, sustainability and long-term value. His remit spans multiple markets and complex project portfolios, underscoring a deep commercial acumen anchored in quality execution and strategic problem-solving.
Marcus brings a true international perspective — having worked and delivered across the United Kingdom, Europe, Middle East, Southeast Asia and Australia. His career journey reflects a blend of cross-border project leadership, multi-disciplinary engagement and deep commercial insight, enabling effective leadership in diverse regulatory, cultural, operational and contractual environments.
Before assuming his current executive board position, Marcus held senior leadership roles including Managing Director of Sisk’s Regional Building business (c.€350m per annum), where he was responsible for driving performance, client engagement and successful delivery across key markets. He also held executive leadership positions at major organisations including Keating Construction and Laing O’Rourke, with experience spanning commercial assurance, operations and business performance.
Marcus began his career in quantity surveying and commercial management, building a firm grounding in project cost control, risk management and value engineering — competencies that continue to shape his strategic leadership today.
